Carly on Radio, Sings "Lost in Me"
|
Carly got up early this morning for a radio interview with Dallas' MIX 102.9. Also there, was local NBC 5 doing a report on Carly. She sang a clip of "Lost in Me" which I talked about a few posts ago. I have the audio clip and a couple videos.

Carly's First Music Review:
FORT WORTH, Texas -- I believe I detected a collective groan rolling across North Texas when word got out that Olympic Gold Medalist Carly Patterson was pursuing a singing career.
Quite frankly, you can't blame the public-at-large for being leery.
We've seen our share of would-be actors, comedians and athletes who, once they hit it big, went screaming into the recording studio like a wailing banshee and actually expected people to buy that garbage (Eddie Murphy and Don Johnson come to mind).
But I honestly believe Carly has a good shot of achieving some success in the music biz. She certainly has the poise and confidence to handle the rigors of such a gig (she stood on the world stage with grace and class during the '04 summer games).
In my opinion Thursday's a cappella debut on Mix 102.9 showed us a girl with great vocal potential and a true knack for writing heartfelt lyrics. Nobody so much as blew a harmonica to get her to pitch and she sang in key with a true flash of soul-fullness and emotion.
Listen, I've stood on the stage on open mic night with a guitar in hand and nothing between me and the audience but a flying beer bottle.
It's not easy to do and she did it well. Plus, having Ashlee and Jessica Simpson's dad to push her career along simply means she won't have to suffer the wrath of Simon Cowell as she develops her chops.
So, break-a-leg Carly and knock 'em dead girl.

Tooth Fairy Ball Pictures
|
We have some fresh pictures from Friday night's "Tooth Fairy Ball". It appears the entire Patterson Posse was there and since this was on Friday night, probably explains why she was not at the American Cup.

Carly Leads the "Tooth Fairy Foundation"
|
Carly is continuing her work in the dental field. Carly will be active in the first annual "An Enchanted Evening with the Tooth Fairy". The event will be held in the Marriott-Legacy Town Center in Plano. The event will be held March 3 at 7PM. A silent auction will be held and several Carly collectibles will be up for a bids. If you can make it (and you have money), you might be able to get some great Carly stuff. Carly said she got involved because dentistry fascinates her. She plans to major in dentistry while in college. "They shouldn't have to worry about toothaches or their teeth hurting," Carly said. "There are more things to worry about than your teeth hurting," she added.

Radio Interview
|
Yesterday, Carly did some press for the upcoming American Cup. She stopped by a local radio station and was on the local CBS affiliate's Morning Show. I don't have the TV interview, but was able to get the radio interview. She answers two very important questions by Carly fans. Her current relationship status and her future in Gymnastics.
